Commanding Space: The Story Behind the Space Force

Space is an increasingly disordered and dangerous domain. Commanding Space: The Story Behind the Space Force, a featured documentary from the CSIS Aerospace Security Project, highlights the history of space reorganization and showcases several perspectives of the Trump administration’s Space Force proposal. Space security experts in Commanding Space answer questions such as: When did the U.S. Department of Defense first start considering the creation of an independent military service dedicated to space operations? Why do military and civilian national security leaders argue for creating a U.S. Space Force in the first place? What are adversarial nations like China and Russia doing in space to threaten U.S. space assets?
